Selvaraghavan’s another treat Mayakkam Enna reveals life story of a photographer, who aims to be a Wildlife Photographer. Karthik Swaminathan (Dhanush) is a freelance photographer, whose dreams lie on his camera. After his parents’ death, his close friends Sunder, Shankar, Padmini and Vindhya support him and his sister. Raviprakash as Madhesh Krishnasamy is a Wildlife Photographer and also a role-model for Karthik. Karthik visits Raviprakash’s office most often, requesting to accept him as his assistant, but he (Raviprakash) humiliates him. One fine day, his friend Sunder introduces his girlfriend Yamini to Karthik and his friends, but Karthik and Yamini do not get along well in their first meet. Later, Yamini falls in love with Karthik, but he tries to ignore her considering the fact that she belongs to Sunder. After all the insults that Karthik faced, Raviprakash offers him to be his assistant on a condition that he has to shoot the best of his pictures in a forest, Karthik agrees to his deal and the story continues with a lot of twists.
SOUNDTRACK:
MUSIC COMPOSER: G.V. Prakash
There are almost six sound tracks composed by G.V.Prakash, out of which "Voda Voda Dhooram Korayala” and"Kadhal En Kadhal" songs have been sung and written by actor Dhanush.
Spicing up with a good choreography along with the fast beat, this song "Kadhal En Kadhal" starts with a sober mood and finally continues with a lively singing that is easy to set in mind.
Overall, though the movie portrays the everlasting passion of a common man, few scenes are sensitive. During the first half of the movie, heroine is portrayed as a bad woman, who insults Karthik and his passion, but the other half of the movie, she falls head over heels for him, may be the director wanted us to keep guessing. Selvaraghavan’s movie can be easily identified with the story and direction. On the whole, this movie is something different from all the other ones. It reveals the director’s love for his craft.
